Gujarat Titans emerged victorious in their second match of the season against Delhi Capitals, despite the presence of Rishabh Pant in the stadium. Titans restricted Delhi to 162 for eight, and a late surge from Axar Patel was not enough to save the team from their second consecutive defeat.
Titans chased down the target with ease, thanks to a brilliant performance by Sudharsan and Miller, who added 56 runs in just 4.5 overs. Sudharsan, in particular, showed why he is a special talent, hitting some audacious shots against the fiery pace of Nortje.
Titans got off to a strong start with Wriddhiman Saha smashing a couple of boundaries and a six in the first over. Shubman Gill also played some delightful strokes, but Nortje soon proved his worth, taking two crucial wickets with his express pace. Shami, on the other hand, was relentless with his probing lengths and troubled the batsmen throughout his spell.
Capitals had planned to promote Axar Patel to No. 6, and the all-rounder did not disappoint, scoring a quickfire 36 off just 22 balls. He hit some magnificent shots, including a towering six off Khan over long-on. However, his efforts went in vain as Titans comfortably chased down the target.
Overall, it was a convincing win for Gujarat Titans, who outplayed Delhi Capitals in all departments of the game.
