The usual way of traveling from Delhi to Jaipur is through NH-48 which takes around 4.5 to 5 hours depending upon the traffic and ongoing maintenance works at several places. With the opening up of the new Delhi-Mumbai expressway, there’s an alternate way to NH-48 which will significantly reduce the travel time and better the connectivity between the two important cities.
The Sohna-Dausa stretch of Delhi Mumbai Expressway will be inaugurated on 12th February, according to a tweet by the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highway, Mr. Nitin Gadkari. According to the reports, the travel time from Delhi to Jaipur through the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will be reduced to around 2 hours.
The whole length of Delhi Mumbai Expressway is around 1390km and it will reduce the travel time from Delhi to Mumbai from 24 hours to merely 12 hours. This is an eight-lane expressway connecting Delhi to Mumbai via Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat. While the first leg of the expressway is being inaugurated on 12th February, the complete project is expected to be completed and ready for public use by March 2023.
