In a recent visit to Gwalior, President Droupadi Murmu emphasized the importance of addressing the needs of marginalized sections of society in the ongoing journey of development. Speaking at the fourth convocation of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management (ABV-IIITM), President Murmu encouraged the students pursuing higher education to reflect on the societal disparities that persist and play an active role in bridging the gap.

During her address, President Murmu highlighted the historical significance of India’s contribution to the world—the concept of zero. She mentioned that one of the earliest instances of the written form of zero was found on an inscription in Chaturbhuj Temple, a renowned fort in Gwalior. This remarkable discovery further underscores India’s rich mathematical heritage and its enduring impact on global knowledge.

President Murmu called upon the young students to contemplate the individuals and communities who have been left behind in the progress of development. Recognizing the responsibility that comes with higher education, she urged the youth to understand their role in fostering the advancement of those who are economically and socially disadvantaged. The President emphasized that it is the duty of every member of society, especially the youth, to actively contribute to the upliftment of marginalized sections and work towards building an inclusive and equitable society.

The convocation ceremony witnessed the graduation of numerous students from ABV-IIITM, marking a significant milestone in their academic journey. President Murmu congratulated the graduates on their achievements and encouraged them to utilize their knowledge and skills for the betterment of society. She stressed the importance of integrating empathy and compassion with technical expertise, as this combination holds the key to addressing the multifaceted challenges faced by marginalized communities.

President Murmu’s address resonated with the graduating students, who now hold the potential to become agents of change in various sectors. Her words served as a reminder of the transformative power of education and the moral obligation to extend its benefits to the less fortunate. The President’s call to action aligns with the vision of a progressive and inclusive society, where the fruits of development are shared by all.

President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to Gwalior and her address at the ABV-IIITM convocation highlighted the importance of considering the marginalized sections of society in the ongoing development process. By urging the students to reflect on the needs of the less privileged and emphasizing their role in societal transformation, the President emphasized the significance of empathy, compassion, and inclusivity. It is through the collective efforts of the youth that a more equitable and just society can be forged, ensuring that no segment of society is left behind in the journey of progress.
