In a major operation on Monday, law enforcement agencies in Jammu and Kashmir carried out the destruction of a significant quantity of seized narcotic and psychotropic substances. The operation, which took place in the Samba district, involved the collaboration of various agencies including the Anti-Narcotic Task Force (ANTF), Narcotics Control Bureau, police, and judiciary.
According to an official statement, a total of 6,727 kg of seized substances were destroyed in a controlled manner at a designated facility. Among the destroyed contraband were 331 kg of heroin, one of the most potent and dangerous drugs, and 256 kg of charas, a form of cannabis resin. These substances are known to have devastating effects on individuals and communities, leading to addiction, health issues, and societal problems.

The destruction of such a wide range of illicit substances highlights the comprehensive efforts being made to tackle the drug menace in the region.
The operation was supervised by the Additional Director General of Police, Jammu zone, emphasizing the significance attached to combating the illicit drug trade.
