A 29-year-old member of the Naga Village Guards (NVG) was killed in an ambush in Manipur’s Ukhrul district on April 24. Ambush During Routine Patrol

Armed assailants attacked a patrol team of the Naga Village Guards in Ukhrul district in the early hours of Friday. The ambush occurred near Sinakeithei village, a sensitive area known for recurring tensions.

TNL Raises Concerns Over Security Situation

The Tangkhul Naga Long issued a statement condemning the ambush. The group reported that suspected Kuki militants, including cadres under Suspension of Operations (SoO) arrangements, carried out the attack along the Sirarakhong–Sinakeithei stretch.

TNL described the incident as part of ongoing disruptions in the region. The organization emphasized that such attacks continue to threaten both civilians and local defense groups.

The Sirarakhong–Sinakeithei route remains a highly sensitive corridor with frequent reports of armed movement. Security concerns persist in this belt, especially along village peripheries.
