Himanta Biswa Sarma Begins Second Term

Himanta Biswa Sarma officially took oath as the Chief Minister of Assam for the second consecutive time after the NDA alliance registered a strong electoral victory in the state.

The grand swearing-in ceremony in Guwahati attracted top BJP leaders and senior political figures from across the country. Supporters and party workers also gathered in large numbers to celebrate the occasion.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan Congratulates Sarma

Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan congratulated Sarma after the oath-taking ceremony.

Speaking to reporters, Chouhan expressed confidence that Assam would continue to progress rapidly under Sarma’s leadership. He also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership would help Assam reach new heights of development.

“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Himanta Biswa Sarma will take the state to new heights of development,” Chouhan stated.

Vishnu Deo Sai Extends Best Wishes

Separately, Vishnu Deo Sai congratulated Sarma and highlighted the BJP-led NDA’s third consecutive victory in Assam.

Sai said the BJP government had once again earned the trust of the people of Assam. He also extended his best wishes to Sarma for his second term as Chief Minister.

Top BJP Leaders Attend Swearing-In Ceremony

Several senior leaders attended the swearing-in ceremony held at Khanapara in Guwahati.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP president Nitin Nabin, and other senior Union ministers remained present during the event.

Chief ministers and deputy chief ministers from multiple NDA-ruled states also attended the ceremony.

Ministers Take Oath Alongside Sarma

Along with Himanta Biswa Sarma, several leaders took oath as ministers in the new BJP-led NDA government in Assam.

The ministers included Rameswar Teli, Atul Bora, Charan Boro, and Ajanta Neog.

The new government is expected to focus on development projects, infrastructure growth, welfare schemes, and employment generation in Assam.

NDA Secures Massive Victory in Assam Elections

The BJP-led NDA alliance secured a dominant victory in the Assam Assembly elections by winning 102 seats in the 126-member House.

The BJP emerged as the largest party with 82 seats, while alliance partners Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) won 10 seats each.

The results strengthened the NDA’s political position in Northeast India.
