The Mizoram government on Tuesday reviewed the demands raised by the Lalhmingthanga Sanate-led faction of the Hmar People’s Convention (Democratic) (HPC-D) after signing a peace accord last month. Peace Accord Marks Major Progress
The meeting came weeks after the Mizoram government signed a peace accord with the Sanate-led HPC(D) on April 14, 2026. The agreement ended the activities of the last remaining insurgent group in the state.
Later, on April 30, forty-three HPC-D cadres, including Lalhmingthanga Sanate, surrendered their arms during a homecoming ceremony at Sesawng near Aizawl.
As a result, many officials now expect faster development and better regional stability across Mizoram.
