Manipur Police Arrest Four Insurgents, Including KCP Chairman, in Multi-District Security Operations

Manipur Police and security forces arrested four alleged insurgents during coordinated operations on June 27 across multiple districts. The arrested individuals include the alleged chairman of the banned KCP (Taibangnganba), a self-styled Captain of the RPF/PLA, and two alleged KCP (PSC) cadres accused of extortion. Security Forces Conduct Coordinated Operations

Imphal: Manipur Police and security forces carried out coordinated operations across the state on June 27. As a result, officers arrested four alleged insurgents linked to different banned militant groups.

According to police, the operations targeted individuals suspected of involvement in insurgent activities and extortion. Meanwhile, investigators continue to examine the cases.

Police Arrest Alleged KCP Chairman

Police arrested Haobijam Dilip Singh alias Taibangnganba (52) in connection with an FIR registered at Singjamei Police Station.

Earlier, authorities brought him from Tihar Jail before completing the arrest process. According to police, he belongs to Keibul Lamjao and currently lives in Bishnupur district.

Security Forces Recover Arms

Meanwhile, security forces arrested Thokchom Bango Singh alias Ibopishak alias Utomba (44) in the Khongjom area of Thoubal district.

During the operation, officers recovered a 9 mm pistol, a magazine, 97 live rounds of ammunition, and a Toyota Fortuner without a registration number. Furthermore, police are examining the seized items as part of the investigation.

Two More Alleged Cadres Held

In another operation, security personnel arrested two alleged active cadres of the KCP (PSC) during a crackdown on suspected extortion activities.

Police identified them as Koijam Lamyanba Meitei alias Punshiba alias Ningol (23) and Lourembam Rojit alias Lamnganba alias Pukhri (19). Additionally, officers arrested them from separate locations in Imphal West and Thoubal districts.

According to investigators, both individuals allegedly took part in extortion-related activities.

Investigation Continues

Meanwhile, Manipur Police continue to investigate all four cases. Moreover, officers are verifying evidence and questioning the accused to gather additional information.

Finally, authorities said they will continue security operations against insurgent groups and other unlawful activities across the state.
