Manipur CM Yumnam Khemchand Singh has condemned the killing of three villagers in Kangpokpi district and vowed legal action against those responsible. The attack also left four people injured, including two women, according to reports.
The incident took place at N Teikhang village in Kangpokpi on August 31. Police and local reports said armed assailants opened fire in the area. Several houses were also reportedly set ablaze during the attack.
Manipur CM condemns deadly attack
The Manipur CM expressed his condolences to the families of the three victims following the attack. He said the state government would not tolerate such violence.
In a statement shared through social media, Khemchand Singh said those responsible for the killings would be arrested and punished according to law. He also stressed the government’s commitment to accountability and peace.
The three people killed included two women. Four others were injured in the attack, with reports identifying two of the injured as women. Authorities have not publicly established the identities of the attackers or their motive.
Kangpokpi village attack under investigation
The attack occurred in N Teikhang village under the T Waichong subdivision of Kangpokpi district. According to local reports, the firing began in the morning and forced residents to flee the area.
The Sangai Express reported that the attackers also set houses on fire. Residents reportedly sought safety away from the affected area as gunfire continued. However, details surrounding the sequence of events remain under investigation.

Manipur CM promises legal action
