157 Grams of Suspected Heroin Seized in Nongmeibung
In the first operation, Imphal East District Police, security forces and YADAM acted on intelligence and searched an area at Nongmeibung under Porompat Police Station.
During the operation, the team arrested two men from Kwakta. Police identified them as 24-year-old Md Ayub Khan and 30-year-old Md Tomba.
The team recovered 12 soap cases containing suspected Heroin No. 4. Officials said the suspected contraband weighed approximately 157 grams.
Police also seized a Maruti Suzuki van bearing registration number MN01CS-3664 during the operation.
Another 327 Grams Recovered From Abandoned Car
In a separate operation, Porompat Police recovered another consignment of suspected heroin from an abandoned vehicle at Kshetrigao Sabal Leikai.
Police found an A-Star car bearing registration number MN01W-9822 at the location. During a search of the vehicle, officers recovered a bag containing 12 soap cases filled with suspected heroin powder.
According to the police, the seized substance weighed approximately 327 grams.
Authorities took the suspected narcotics and the vehicle into custody and initiated further legal proceedings.
Codeine-Based Cough Syrup Seized in Bishnupur
Meanwhile, Bishnupur District Police conducted another operation at Kwakta Terakhongshangbi.
Police intercepted an Activa scooter and recovered 130 bottles of Vincof-Plus cough syrup. The seized bottles contained approximately 26 grams of codeine phosphate, according to the information provided by authorities.
Police arrested 33-year-old Mouluvi Imran during the operation. Officers also apprehended a juvenile who was travelling as a pillion rider.
The accused, juvenile and seized items were handed over to Phougakchao Ikhai Police Station for further legal action.

The separate operations highlight continued enforcement efforts against suspected illegal drug trafficking in Manipur.
