Former Zonal Director of NCB Mumbai, Sameer Wankhede, arrived at the CBI office in Mumbai for questioning regarding the Aryan Khan drugs on cruise case. Wankhede is accused of seeking a bribe from Shah Rukh Khan when Aryan Khan was in custody last year. He appeared before the CBI on Saturday and expressed his trust in the truth prevailing by saying ‘Satyameva Jayate’ when approached by reporters.

The Bombay High Court has ordered no coercive action against Wankhede until May 22 in the corruption case related to the Cordelia cruise drug bust. Wankhede had filed a petition seeking the quashing of the CBI FIR against him, alleging that he demanded a bribe of Rs 25 crore from Shah Rukh Khan to avoid implicating Aryan Khan in the drug bust case.

New details continue to emerge in the case, months after Wankhede gained prominence when Aryan Khan was arrested in the drugs on cruise case. Recently, alleged conversations between Shah Rukh Khan and Sameer Wankhede were presented in court to support Wankhede’s case. The chats showed Shah Rukh Khan appealing to Wankhede to show leniency towards his son during the apprehension in the cruise drug case.

Wankhede has submitted a document containing a conversation with Shah Rukh Khan to the Mumbai High Court. It is worth noting that Aryan Khan was not named in the NCB charge sheet last year due to a lack of evidence against him. Wankhede voluntarily offered to appear before the agency after an FIR was registered against him and four others for alleged extortion attempts based on an NCB inquiry referred by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
