Campaign Push in Sonapur
In a key political development, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu campaigned in Assam on Saturday. He extended support to National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates ahead of the Assembly elections.
At the Sonapur Higher Secondary School Playground, Khandu addressed a large public gathering. There, he endorsed AGP candidate Basanta Das from the Nawboicha (SC) constituency. Notably, the strong turnout reflected growing public engagement in the electoral process.

Focus on Regional Cooperation
During his address, Khandu highlighted the close relationship between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. He explained that both states are working together to boost regional growth. As a result, infrastructure projects have gained momentum and peace has been strengthened.
Moreover, he pointed out that joint efforts have helped resolve several inter-state challenges. Therefore, such cooperation remains crucial for long-term development.
Support for BJP Candidate in Ranganadi
Later in the day, Khandu visited Yuva Nagar in the newly formed Ranganadi Assembly constituency. During this visit, he campaigned for BJP candidate Rishiraj Hazarika.
Additionally, he urged voters to support NDA candidates to ensure continuity in development. In his view, stable leadership plays a vital role in sustaining progress.
Progress on Boundary Issues
Addressing another key issue, Khandu spoke about the Assam–Arunachal boundary dispute. He stated that both governments have made steady progress toward resolution.
Importantly, he credited BJP-led governments at the Centre and in both states for improved coordination. Consequently, peace and stability along the border have strengthened.
Development and Infrastructure Priorities
Along with political messaging, the Chief Minister emphasized development, safety, and infrastructure. He highlighted improvements in road connectivity and border security measures.
