Itanagar: The Ziro Royal Enfielders (ZRE) Motorcycle Club has earned praise for organising two successful humanitarian initiatives in Arunachal Pradesh within a single week.
First, the club raised more than ₹4.51 lakh for families affected by the devastating flash flood in Keyi Panyor district. Later, it organised a charity ride to support inmates of the Grace Rehabilitation Centre in Ziro.

Online Campaign Receives Nationwide Support
The fundraising campaign followed the flash flood that struck the Posa area of Keyi Panyor district after a cloudburst on June 24.
Inspired by the longstanding friendship between the Apatani and Nyishi communities, ZRE launched an online donation campaign. Although administrative constraints forced the club to cancel its planned offline collection drive, supporters from across India responded generously.
Individuals, organisations, and motorcycle clubs contributed to the campaign, helping the club achieve its fundraising goal.
Relief Amount Handed Over to MLA Relief Fund
On July 9, a team of 16 ZRE riders travelled from Ziro to Yazali to hand over ₹4,51,014 to Yachuli MLA Toko Tatung for the MLA Relief Fund.
District officials and Zilla Parishad Members attended the handover ceremony. Earlier, Ziro-Hapoli MLA Hage Appa flagged off the riders before they began their journey.
The relief fund will support families affected by the flash flood in the district.
Club Appreciates Support from Across the Northeast
ZRE Chief Nending Ommo thanked everyone who contributed to the fundraising campaign.
He gave special recognition to the Open Road Wanderers Motorcycle Club of Sikkim for organising a dedicated fundraising drive. He also wished the club success in hosting the 16th North East Riders Meet 2026.
According to Ommo, the overwhelming support demonstrated the strong bond among motorcycle communities across Northeast India.
Charity Ride Supports Rehabilitation Centre
The club’s second social initiative took place on July 11 during the inaugural North East Monsoon Odyssey 2026.
ZRE organised the charity ride with the Red River Odyssey Motorcycle Club. Around 70 riders participated in the event.
The riders visited the Grace Rehabilitation Centre, managed by the Apatani Baptist Association. During the visit, they donated cash, food items, and refreshments for the residents.
The initiative aimed to encourage compassion and extend practical support to people undergoing rehabilitation.
Motorcycling with a Social Purpose
ZRE General-in-Command Duyu Deilyang said the club believes motorcycling should contribute positively to society.
He explained that the organisation regularly promotes tourism, communal harmony, and responsible riding. In addition, the club has organised plantation drives, plogging campaigns, river-cleaning programmes, orphanage visits, and solidarity events.
Furthermore, ZRE voluntarily surrendered aftermarket loud silencers to the district administration to promote responsible motorcycling and reduce noise pollution.

Nending Ommo credited the club’s achievements to its diverse membership.
The organisation includes personnel from the armed forces, entrepreneurs, government employees, and professionals from different communities and states.
