Intelligence-Based Operation Leads to Big Haul

Security agencies launched the operation after receiving credible information about the movement of narcotics along the Lakhipur route. Acting swiftly, a joint team of Assam Rifles and Cachar Police set up surveillance and intercepted the suspect vehicle.

Upon searching the consignment, officials recovered 154 soap cases filled with heroin. The seized drugs were later handed over to the police for further legal proceedings.

Probe Underway to Trace Drug Network

Authorities have started a detailed investigation to identify the source of the heroin and trace the wider network involved in the trafficking operation. Officials are also examining possible links to inter-state and cross-border drug syndicates operating in the region.

According to officials, law enforcement agencies will continue follow-up operations based on leads generated from the arrest.

Assam Rifles’ Ongoing Anti-Drug Drive

Assam Rifles has remained at the forefront of the fight against narcotics in the Northeast. The force conducts regular intelligence-based operations to disrupt trafficking routes and dismantle organised drug networks.

Officials noted that cooperation between central forces and state police has significantly strengthened enforcement efforts. Such coordinated actions have led to several high-value seizures in recent months.

Significant Step Against Drug Menace

Security experts described the seizure as a major success in ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking in the region. They stressed that continued vigilance and coordination remain essential to counter the growing drug menace.

Authorities urged citizens to report suspicious activities and cooperate with security agencies to ensure safer communities across the Northeast.
