West Tripura Superintendent of Police Kiran Kumar explained that the crime involved Shariful Islam, Dr. Dibakar Saha (29), and a woman who is both Dibakar’s cousin and Shariful’s girlfriend.

On June 8, Dibakar tricked Shariful into coming to a house in South Indranagar by offering a gift. When Shariful arrived, Dibakar and his accomplices strangled him. Then, they placed his body in a trolley bag and transported it to Gandacherra.

There, they hid the body inside a refrigerator at an ice-cream shop owned by Dibakar’s parents, Dipak and Debika Saha.

Police arrested six suspects: Dr. Dibakar Saha, his parents Dipak and Debika, and three others — Animesh Yadav, Nabanita Das, and Jaydeep Das. All are now in custody, and the police continue their investigation.
