AMRIT Pharmacy to Reduce Treatment Costs
AMRIT Pharmacy is a flagship initiative of HLL Lifecare Ltd. The programme focuses on supplying affordable medicines and medical products for the treatment of cancer, cardiovascular diseases and other health conditions. It offers medicines across all categories, along with surgical items, consumables and implants.
The initiative seeks to address the high cost of healthcare by making essential medical items available at discounted rates. By doing so, it aims to ensure that treatment remains affordable and accessible to all sections of society.
Central Warehouse and Hospital Outlets Planned
As part of the agreement, HLL Lifecare Ltd will first set up a warehouse at the State Family Welfare Training Institute in Chumoukedima. This facility will serve as the central supply hub.
Public hospitals across the state will procure medicines and medical supplies for their Citizen Welfare Pharmacies from this warehouse. In addition, HLL Lifecare Ltd will open dedicated AMRIT Pharmacy outlets within public hospitals wherever required.
Through this structured supply system, the government aims to ensure timely availability of quality medical products at reduced prices.
Benefits for Patients
With the launch of AMRIT Pharmacy, citizens will gain access to reliable and quality-assured medicines at significantly lower costs. This step is expected to ease the financial burden on patients, especially those undergoing long-term or critical treatments.
Health officials said the initiative would also help standardize the supply of medicines across public healthcare facilities while maintaining transparency and affordability.
MoU Signing Ceremony
The MoU was formally signed by Dr. Mereninla Senlem, Principal Director, on behalf of the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare. Dilip Kumar Mishra, Senior Manager (RBD–North East), signed the agreement on behalf of HLL Lifecare Limited.
Officials from both sides expressed confidence that the collaboration would strengthen public healthcare delivery and improve access to essential medicines across the state.
