In a historic moment for gender representation in the judiciary, Justice Sunita Agarwal was sworn in as the 29th Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court on Sunday. She is the second woman to hold this esteemed position in the history of the Gujarat High Court. The oath-taking ceremony took place at Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar and was administered by Governor Acharya Devvrat.

The presence of prominent dignitaries such as Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Speaker of Gujarat Assembly Shankar Chaudhary, and Minister of Law and Justice Rushikesh Patel made the occasion even more significant, highlighting the importance of the appointment and the impact it could have on the state’s judicial landscape.
