Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan has expressed concerns about the disturbing trend of communal disharmony in the state. Speaking to reporters, he highlighted that there have been planned efforts to disrupt communal peace and harmony in the state over the past few decades. The governor’s comments come in the wake of the controversy surrounding the release of the movie “The Kerala Story.”

Governor Khan stated that he has not watched the movie but noted that the atmosphere in the state is one of cordiality and brotherhood among people of different faiths. His comments reflect the need for the state to continue promoting communal harmony and peaceful coexistence.

Khan was in the state to pay homage to his ‘guru’ Puran Chand Shastri. He took the opportunity to emphasize the importance of preserving the teachings of great spiritual leaders in the country. He highlighted the need for the younger generation to learn from the wisdom and values of these spiritual leaders and to promote the ideals of peace, unity, and harmony.

The governor’s remarks come at a time when Kerala has been experiencing increasing incidents of communal tensions and violence. The state government has been taking measures to address these issues and promote communal harmony. The governor’s call for the preservation of the teachings of spiritual leaders is a timely reminder of the importance of promoting values that unite people rather than those that divide them.

The state has a rich history of communal harmony, with people of different faiths coexisting peacefully for centuries. The governor’s comments are a reminder of the need to preserve and promote this legacy of peaceful coexistence and communal harmony. The state government and civil society groups must work together to promote the values of tolerance, understanding, and respect for diversity, which are the foundation of a healthy and harmonious society.
