Rainfall in DELHI

Delhi experienced a spell of light rain on Monday morning, resulting in muggy weather conditions throughout the national capital. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that the city received 5 mm of rainfall during the 24-hour period that concluded at 8:30 am on Monday. Despite the precipitation, the minimum temperature settled at a relatively normal 25.5 degrees Celsius, which is typical for this time of the year.

The onset of rain brought temporary relief to Delhiites who were grappling with sweltering heat and dry conditions. The light showers brought respite from the scorching sun and cooled down the atmosphere to a certain extent. However, the accompanying humidity made the weather feel muggy, contributing to a sense of discomfort for residents.

According to the IMD, the relative humidity in Delhi was recorded at a high 96% at 8:30 am. The moisture-laden air added to the stickiness and made it feel hotter than the actual temperature. The combination of high humidity and warm temperatures made it necessary for people to take precautions and stay hydrated to avoid any heat-related illnesses.

While the rainfall may have been relatively light, it still provided some relief to the city. The dust-laden atmosphere was cleansed, allowing for cleaner and fresher air to circulate. The rainwater also helped settle the dust particles, providing momentary respite from the pollution levels that often plague Delhi. Additionally, the showers brought a slight drop in temperature, providing a brief break from the intense heat.

The IMD also noted that the minimum temperature of 25.5 degrees Celsius was within the normal range for this time of year. Delhi experiences hot and humid weather during the summer season, and the current temperature falls within the expected range. However, the combination of humidity and high temperatures can make it feel more uncomfortable than the recorded figure.

As the day progressed, the rain subsided, and the weather gradually improved. The clouds gave way to occasional sunshine, providing some relief from the gloomy conditions earlier in the day. However, the high humidity persisted, reminding residents that monsoon season had arrived in the region.

The light rainfall in Delhi brought a temporary respite from the scorching heat and dust-laden atmosphere. Although the precipitation was minimal, it contributed to cleaner air and a slight drop in temperatures. However, the high humidity levels made the weather feel muggy, emphasizing the need for precautions and staying hydrated. Delhiites can expect similar weather patterns as the monsoon season progresses, with intermittent showers and fluctuating temperatures.
