On her first day at work, Dr. Soni inspected all offices of the district secretariat and emphasized the importance of ensuring that the benefits of government schemes reach every individual in the area. She belongs to Suratgarh in Rajasthan’s Sriganganagar and was awarded a merit certificate from CBSE for securing 100% marks in maths in class 10.

She also worked as a junior resident at Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, Delhi, in 2012. In the same year, she secured the 42nd rank in the UPSC civil services exam. She was first posted as SDM, Ballabhgarh, in the Faridabad district in 2014, where she started the E-Disha Kendra to provide all citizen services under a single roof.

She has also served as the Deputy Commissioner of Kaithal, Hisar, and Ambala and as the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Rewari and Karnal.

Additionally, she has been the commissioner of the municipal corporations of Karnal and Panipat. During her tenure as Kaithal DC, she started the Vidhya Vahini bus service for girl students and organized a women’s film festival in the town.
