Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, along with Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, paid tribute to former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 32nd death anniversary at Vir Bhumi in Delhi. Rajiv Gandhi, who became the sixth Prime Minister of India in 1984 after the assassination of his mother Indira Gandhi, was remembered for his transformative contributions to the country.
Rahul Gandhi shared a video of his father on Twitter, expressing how Rajiv Gandhi continues to inspire him. Mallikarjun Kharge praised Rajiv Gandhi’s achievements, including his efforts to lower the voting age, strengthen the Panchayati Raj system, revolutionize the telecom and IT sectors, and establish peace accords.
The solemn occasion was also attended by Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, who paid their respects to the late Prime Minister.
