Sita Dahal, the wife of Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ has tragically passed away at the age of 69. Sita had been battling a rare neurological condition and had been undergoing treatment at Norvic International Hospital in Kathmandu. Her death was confirmed by the doctors at 8.33 am on Wednesday, according to the Prime Minister’s press coordinator, Surya Kiran Sharma.
Sita Dahal, in addition to her role as the Prime Minister’s wife, was an adviser to the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre). She had been suffering from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, a debilitating neurodegenerative disorder, along with Parkinsonism, Diabetes Mellitus-II, and Hypertension for an extended period.
