In a bid to address the ongoing blockades on National Highway-2 in Manipur, Union Home Minister Amit Shah took to social media on Sunday, urging the people of Manipur to lift the blockades. He emphasized the importance of allowing basic and essential goods such as food, medicines, and fuel to reach the state.

Using his official Twitter handle, Shah reached out to the citizens of Manipur and appealed to their sense of responsibility. He requested them to consider the well-being of their fellow residents and the urgent need for essential supplies. Furthermore, he called upon members of the civil society to step forward and take initiative in facilitating the removal of the blockades.

Expressing his concern, Shah stated, “My sincerest appeal to the people of Manipur is to lift the blockades at the Imphal-Dimapur, NH-2 Highway, so that food, medicines, petrol/diesel, and other necessary items can reach the people.”

The blockades on the Imphal-Dimapur highway have resulted in significant disruptions to the flow of goods and essential commodities in Manipur. These blockades have led to severe shortages of food, medicines, and fuel, putting the residents of Manipur in a vulnerable position. As a result, there is an urgent need to alleviate the situation and ensure that essential supplies reach the people in a timely manner.

By urging the people of Manipur to lift the blockades, Amit Shah acknowledged the importance of unhindered transportation routes. He emphasized that unimpeded access to basic necessities is vital, especially during challenging times. Shah’s appeal highlighted the need for collective action and the crucial role that the citizens of Manipur can play in resolving the situation.

The Home Minister’s call to the civil society to take the lead in removing the blockades underscores the significance of community involvement. He recognized that a collaborative effort is required to address the issue effectively. The active participation of the civil society can serve as a catalyst in finding a solution and ensuring that essential goods reach the people without any further delay.

The blockades on National Highway-2 have not only disrupted the supply chain but also posed a threat to the overall well-being of the people in Manipur. Adequate access to food, medicines, and fuel is essential for their survival and daily livelihoods. The imposition of blockades has had a cascading effect on various sectors, including healthcare, transportation, and commerce.

The appeal made by Amit Shah carries significant weight as he holds a key position in the central government and is responsible for maintaining law and order in the country. His statement indicates the government’s concern for the welfare of the people of Manipur and their urgent need for essential supplies.

As the situation in Manipur remains critical due to the blockades, it is hoped that the appeal made by the Home Minister will resonate with the people and lead to positive action. By lifting the blockades, the residents of Manipur can contribute to the restoration of normalcy and ensure the availability of essential goods for themselves and their fellow citizens.

Amit Shah’s appeal to the people of Manipur to lift the blockades on National Highway-2 highlights the pressing need for essential supplies in the state. By removing the blockades, the residents can play a crucial role in restoring the flow of food, medicines, and fuel. The involvement of the civil society is crucial in this endeavor, and their proactive actions can alleviate the difficulties faced by the people of Manipur.
