The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) faced intense speculation about its unity following recent developments within the party. However, senior leader Praful Patel addressed the media on Friday to clarify that the NCP had not broken up and shed light on the appointment of Ajit Pawar as the party president. Patel stated that Ajit Pawar’s appointment had been unanimously approved by the NCP legislature and organizational wings on June 30.

During the press conference, Patel revealed that the NCP had taken decisive steps to assert Ajit Pawar’s leadership. They had submitted a petition, accompanied by affidavits from over 40 Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs), to the Election Commission of India (ECI). This submission aimed to inform the ECI about Ajit Pawar’s appointment as the party president and stake a claim over the “party name and symbol.”

To dispel any confusion, Patel emphasized that the meeting of the national working committee held by Sharad Pawar in Delhi on Thursday was not an official gathering. This clarification aimed to address any misunderstandings that may have arisen due to the unofficial nature of the meeting.

The NCP, known for its strong regional presence in Maharashtra, had been under the spotlight recently due to internal disagreements and differing opinions. These factors fueled speculation about the party’s stability and potential splits. However, Praful Patel’s statements sought to put these rumors to rest and reaffirm the unity of the NCP under the leadership of Ajit Pawar.

Ajit Pawar, a prominent NCP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, has been actively involved in the party’s affairs for many years. His appointment as the party president indicates a significant step forward in his political career. With the unanimous support of the NCP’s legislature and organizational wings, Ajit Pawar assumes the responsibility of leading the party into the future.

The submission of affidavits to the Election Commission underscores the NCP’s commitment to securing its party name and symbol. These elements hold immense importance in political campaigns and electoral processes, serving as a recognizable identity for the party and its candidates. By staking a claim over them, the NCP seeks to consolidate its position and protect its political legacy.

Praful Patel’s press conference and subsequent statements aimed to reassure party members, supporters, and the public that the NCP remains united and focused on its political goals. The appointment of Ajit Pawar as party president, supported by a unanimous decision, signifies a collective resolve to move forward and overcome any internal challenges.

As the NCP continues its political journey, the party’s leaders and members will strive to strengthen its presence in Maharashtra and contribute to the development of the state. The appointment of Ajit Pawar as president, backed by the endorsement of the NCP’s legislature and organizational wings, provides a sense of stability and direction for the party’s future endeavors.

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has clarified that it remains intact and has not experienced any significant internal rift. Ajit Pawar’s appointment as party president, unanimously approved by the NCP legislature and organizational wings, underscores the party’s unity and determination to move forward. The submission of affidavits to the Election Commission of India (ECI) highlights the NCP’s commitment to safeguarding its party name and symbol. With these developments, the NCP aims to consolidate its position and focus on its political objectives, contributing to the growth and progress of Maharashtra.
