Shillong to Host Opening Concert of India Tour
Legendary German rock band Scorpions are set to return to India after an 18-year hiatus, marking a major moment for rock music fans across the country. The band will kick off its much-anticipated “Coming Home 2026” India tour with a concert in Shillong on April 21.
The opening show will take place at JN Stadium, making Shillong the first Indian city to host the iconic band on this tour. Scorpions last performed in India in 2008, and their return has already generated strong excitement among fans.

Multi-City India Tour Announced
Following the Shillong concert, the band will perform in several major Indian cities. Scorpions will play in Delhi-NCR at HUDA Grounds on April 24, followed by a Bengaluru show at NICE Grounds on April 26.
The India leg of the tour will conclude in Mumbai, where the band will perform at Jio Gardens on April 30. The four-city schedule reflects the band’s effort to connect with fans across different regions of the country.
Band Members Express Excitement Over India Return
Sharing his excitement, lead vocalist Klaus Meine said the band is thrilled to return to India after nearly two decades. He described the upcoming concerts as special for both the band and their fans.
“We are incredibly excited to finally be touring India again after such a long time and are looking forward to meeting our many fans there,” Meine said. “These concerts will be a very special experience for us.”
Founder and guitarist Rudolf Schenker also highlighted the emotional significance of the tour. He noted that the band is celebrating six decades since its formation.
“Sixty years after the band’s founding, we’re bringing our ‘Coming Home’ concert to India,” Schenker said. “It will be a unique celebration for our fans and for us.”
Lead guitarist Matthias Jabs echoed the sentiment and described the India shows as unforgettable. He said performing the now-iconic “Coming Home” concerts in India adds to the excitement.
Six Decades of Rock Legacy
Formed in 1965, Scorpions remain one of the most influential rock bands in music history. Over the years, the band has released 19 studio albums and performed to millions of fans worldwide.
Scorpions are best known for timeless hits such as Rock You Like a Hurricane, Still Loving You, Send Me an Angel, and Wind of Change. Their albums Love at First Sting, Blackout, and Crazy World continue to enjoy global popularity.
The band’s music has crossed generations and borders, making their return to India a significant cultural moment for long-time fans and new listeners alike.
