₹56 Crore Released to Support Youth Entrepreneurs
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday distributed the first installment of financial assistance under the Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Assam Award (CMAAA) 2.0 to 5,572 young entrepreneurs. The event took place at the Jyoti-Bishnu International Auditorium in Guwahati.
The beneficiaries belonged to Kamrup and Kamrup (Metro) districts. Through this initiative, the Assam government released more than ₹56 crore to support youth-led enterprises across the region.

Empowering Youth as Job Creators
Speaking at the programme, Chief Minister Sarma said the state government aims to transform young people into job creators rather than job seekers. He added that entrepreneurship remains a key pillar of Assam’s economic growth strategy.
Moreover, the Chief Minister encouraged the beneficiaries to use the financial assistance responsibly to expand their businesses. According to him, youth-driven enterprises can significantly boost local employment and strengthen the state’s economy.
Vision to Support 10 Lakh Entrepreneurs
The Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Assam Award 2.0 seeks to provide long-term support to aspiring entrepreneurs across Assam. In the coming years, the scheme aims to benefit up to 10 lakh young entrepreneurs.
Furthermore, the programme focuses on nurturing innovation, promoting self-reliance, and building a robust startup ecosystem in the state. The government believes that sustained financial support will help young entrepreneurs scale their ventures and compete in larger markets.
