Security forces arrested three suspected drug smugglers from a hotel in Moreh town of Manipur on March 8 during a joint operation based on intelligence inputs. Officials also seized a large quantity of contraband, cash, and other valuables from their possession.
The operation involved the Manipur Police and other security agencies. Authorities said the arrests followed intelligence sharing among multiple law enforcement units.

Accused Identified
Police identified the three arrested individuals as Letminlun Khongsai alias Minlun Khongsai (35), Jamgoulen Haokip (28), and Deikholam Chongloi (57). Security personnel detained them during a raid conducted at a hotel in the border town.
Investigators suspect that the group was involved in illegal drug trafficking activities in the region.
Large Quantity of Contraband Seized
During the search operation, security personnel recovered 2.3 kilograms of WY tablets from the suspects. These tablets are commonly linked to cross-border narcotics trafficking networks operating in the Northeast.
Apart from the contraband, officials also seized ₹2,00,200 in cash from the accused. Authorities believe the money could be linked to drug-related transactions.
The team further recovered two gold pendants, three mobile phones, and two Aadhaar cards during the operation.
Vehicle Also Confiscated
Security forces also seized a black four-wheeler, a Mahindra Thar bearing registration number ML05AE 0201. Officials suspect the vehicle may have been used to transport narcotics or facilitate smuggling operations.
Investigators are examining the seized items to gather more evidence related to the case.
Joint Intelligence Operation
Officials said the arrests followed coordinated intelligence sharing between the Manipur Police and the Narcotics Control Bureau, along with other security agencies.
Based on the inputs, security forces conducted the operation and apprehended the suspects. Authorities described the raid as part of ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking in border areas.
Further Investigation Underway
Officials confirmed that one of the arrested individuals is already linked to a case registered with the Narcotics Control Bureau. Investigators are now examining whether the group is connected to a larger drug trafficking network.
Security agencies continue to strengthen surveillance and intelligence operations in border regions such as Moreh, which often serve as key transit points for illegal narcotics entering the country.
Authorities said further investigation is underway to determine the full extent of the smuggling network and identify other possible associates involved in the case.
