Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has warned that those responsible for attacking BJP candidates in West Bengal will face consequences once the party comes to power. Speaking after the first phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections, he expressed confidence that the BJP would secure a strong mandate. Strong Statement on Political Violence

Sarma praised Gyanesh Kumar for overseeing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. He said the country would remember the commissioner’s contributions to strengthening electoral processes.

He also suggested that similar revision exercises should take place in Assam to improve voter records.

Election officials will conduct polling for the remaining 142 constituencies on April 29. Authorities will count votes on May 4.
