CM Highlights Role of Police During Conflict
During his speech, the Chief Minister referred to the ethnic conflict situation that started on May 3, 2023, in Manipur.
He praised Manipur Police personnel for performing their duties with courage and dedication despite difficult circumstances. He said many police officers risked their lives to maintain peace and prevent violence during the unrest.
The Chief Minister added that the government remains committed to strengthening the police force and improving security infrastructure throughout the state.
He also informed that the Ministry of Home Affairs approved Rs. 196.61 crore on October 31, 2025, for police modernisation projects in Manipur.
According to him, the funding would support infrastructure upgrades, better equipment, and advanced policing systems.

He informed that 54 percent of the newly inducted vehicles would go to hill districts, while 46 percent would serve valley districts.
The DGP also highlighted the achievements of Manipur Police in recent operations. He said the Anti-Extortion Cell arrested around 1,000 people after its formation.
He further stated that police arrested more than 700 people and registered over 600 cases under the state government’s anti-drug campaign.
Rajiv Singh also announced that Manipur Police signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Security Guard for specialised training programmes for police personnel.
