Manipur Police and security forces arrested nine alleged insurgent cadres linked to different banned outfits during a series of coordinated operations across the state between June 16 and June 18. Four Alleged KCP-PWG Members Held in Imphal East

On June 18, security forces arrested four alleged members of the Kangleipak Communist Party (People’s War Group) [KCP-PWG] in Imphal East district.

According to officials, the group allegedly planted hand grenades at several locations, including a residence at Brahmapur Nahabam Bamon Leikai. As a result, investigators launched a focused operation to identify and apprehend the suspects.

Authorities identified the arrested individuals as Huidrom Palinba Singh alias Nanao (19), Pebam Roshan Singh (18), Nameirakpam Jitson Meitei (19), and Maimom Lemba Meitei (28). All four belong to Imphal East district.

Security Teams Crack Down on Extortion Network

Meanwhile, security personnel conducted another operation in Kakching district on the same day. During the raid, they arrested four alleged cadres linked to KCP (MFL).

Officials alleged that the group engaged in extortion activities and facilitated the illegal supply of arms. Additionally, investigators believe the network played a role in supporting unlawful operations in different parts of the state.

The arrested individuals were identified as Moirangthem Tondomba Singh alias Teme (44), Wahengbam Inao Singh alias Jack (46), Nongmaithem David Meitei (42), and Maibam Lokendro Singh (38).

RPF/PLA Cadre Arrested in Separate Operation

Earlier, on June 16, security teams arrested an alleged cadre of the Revolutionary People’s Front/People’s Liberation Army (RPF/PLA) from Kangla Sangomshang Awang Leikai under Lamlai Police Station in Imphal East district.

Officials identified the individual as Arambam Sanayaima Meitei alias Ali (48). Although authorities did not reveal specific allegations, they confirmed that the arrest formed part of a broader counter-insurgency operation.

Another KCP-PWG Cadre Nabbed in Bishnupur

On June 17, security personnel carried out another successful operation in Bishnupur district. During the operation, they arrested an alleged KCP-PWG cadre from Moirang Khoiru Mayai Leirak.

Authorities identified the suspect as Hemam Laingam Meitei alias Ngamba (33). Moreover, officials stated that the arrest helped security agencies gather valuable intelligence related to militant activities.

Counter-Insurgency Operations Continue Across Manipur

Security agencies continue to intensify counter-insurgency operations across Manipur. In recent months, they have increased intelligence-based surveillance and launched targeted raids against militant networks.
