Mizoram Announces Cash Reward

The Mizoram government announced the cash incentives under its existing Mizoram Sports Incentives Cash Award Scheme.

Chief Minister Lalduhoma congratulated the Indian women’s hockey team and praised the contribution of the two players from Mizoram.

According to Lalduhoma, Lalremsiami and Lalthantluangi created sporting history for the state by becoming the first sportspersons from Mizoram to win an Asian Games gold medal.

“In recognition of their outstanding achievement, both players shall be awarded Rs 25 lakh each under the existing Mizoram Sports Incentives Cash Award Scheme,” Lalduhoma said in a post on his official social media handle.

Lalremsiami played a crucial role in India’s final against China. She scored India’s only goal as the team secured a 1-0 victory.

The result gave India the women’s hockey gold medal at the Asian Games. It also ended a 44-year wait for the country to reclaim the title.
