Two accidents on the Pune-Bengaluru Highway in Maharashtra have claimed the lives of seven people and left several injured. The first accident occurred on Saturday night near the Swami Narayan Mandir of the Narhe area, where two trucks and a private bus collided. The accident resulted in three fatalities, including the truck driver, and 18 injuries. The injured were rescued by the Pune and PMRDA’s fire department officials and are currently being treated at a nearby hospital.

The second accident occurred on Sunday morning near the Narhe area of Pune city, where a truck and a private bus collided, resulting in four fatalities and 22 injuries. The bus, belonging to Nita Travels and traveling from Kolhapur to Dombivali, collided with a truck carrying sacks of sugar. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Supriya Sule, who visited the accident site, was informed by the police that the accident occurred due to brake failure. She expressed her condolences to the victims’ families and appreciated the prompt response of the police and administration.

Both accidents have highlighted the need for strict enforcement of road safety measures on the Pune-Bengaluru Highway. The authorities should investigate the cause of these accidents and take necessary steps to prevent similar incidents in the future. The government should also provide adequate medical facilities and support to the injured and the families of the deceased. The public should also exercise caution while traveling on highways and report any traffic violations or unsafe driving practices to the authorities.
