The Director General of Police (DGP) of Jammu and Kashmir, Dilbag Singh, has instructed officials to monitor the activities of any groups attempting to revive terrorism in the Jammu region with the assistance of elements from across the border. During a joint meeting of officers from the police and army in the Mahore area of Reasi district on Thursday, Singh emphasized the importance of remaining vigilant and taking strict actions against individuals involved in supporting terrorists or engaging in the narco-trade.

Singh also praised the cooperation and coordination among the security forces in maintaining peace in the region and called for the involvement of Panchayati Raj Institutions and village defense groups in developing joint area domination plans to monitor and gather human intelligence. The use of new-generation technology, such as apps, was also highlighted as a means of enhancing operational capability.

The DGP requested reports on the security situation from jurisdictional officers, who provided updates on measures taken to maintain security and control crime. Singh stressed the importance of cooperation from the public and urged officials to circulate contact numbers for police and security forces to facilitate information gathering.

The Reasi district is considered sensitive due to its connection with the border district of Rajouri and the valley, with potential crossover attempts. As a result, Singh emphasized the need for all forces to work together to prevent the revival of terrorism in the area.
