Hriday Hazarika and Nancy, two rising stars of Indian shooting, have claimed their first individual senior World Cup medals in the 10m air rifle event. Hazarika, a former junior world champion, put in an outstanding performance in the final, where his lowest score was 10.1 out of a possible 10.9. He secured the silver medal behind China’s Yukun Liu, who shot an excellent final score of 251.6 to take gold.

Nancy’s performance was equally impressive, with her lowest score in the final being 10.2. She finished just behind Russia’s Daria Vdovina, who won gold with a final score of 252.0. This is a significant achievement for both Hazarika and Nancy, who have been steadily improving their performance over the past year.

Hazarika, who hails from Assam, has been a dominant force in junior shooting for some time. He won gold in the junior World Championships in 2018, and has since been making steady progress in the senior ranks. His performance in the World Cup is proof that he has what it takes to compete at the highest level.

Nancy, who hails from Haryana, has also been making waves in Indian shooting circles. She has consistently improved her scores over the past year, and her performance in the World Cup is a testament to her hard work and dedication.

Both Hazarika and Nancy have credited their coaches and support staff for their success. “I owe everything to my coaches and support staff who have helped me improve my technique and mental strength,” said Hazarika. “Without their guidance, I would not have been able to achieve this.”

Nancy echoed these sentiments, saying, “My coaches and support staff have been amazing. They have been with me every step of the way, helping me to improve my scores and stay focused.”

The 10m air rifle event is one of the most competitive in international shooting. The fact that Hazarika and Nancy were able to win silver medals in their first senior World Cup appearances is a testament to their skill and potential.

Their success is also a boost for Indian shooting, which has been going through a bit of a slump in recent years. With talented young shooters like Hazarika and Nancy coming through the ranks, there is reason to be optimistic about the future of Indian shooting.
