Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, criticized the BJP on Friday, accusing the party of using investigative agencies to target her family and party members. Speaking at a rally in Bankura, she stated that the BJP was behind the recent summons issued by the CBI to her nephew, Abhishek Banerjee, in connection with the school jobs scam. Despite the BJP’s actions, Mamata Banerjee asserted that she and her family were unafraid of them. She further stated that the fight against the BJP’s tyranny would persist until they were removed from power.

Abhishek Banerjee, the General Secretary of the TMC, had to leave the rally early to appear before the CBI at its Kolkata office on Saturday. In response to the summons, he temporarily suspended his mass outreach campaign. Mamata Banerjee’s plea to recall a previous court order allowing investigative agencies to question Abhishek Banerjee about the teacher recruitment scam was dismissed by the Calcutta High Court.

The school scam case emerged when Kuntal Ghosh, an accused individual, mentioned Abhishek Banerjee’s name in his complaint. Ghosh alleged that central investigating agencies were pressuring him to implicate Abhishek Banerjee. Mamata Banerjee reiterated her determination to fight against the BJP’s alleged tactics and stated that the campaign would continue until the BJP was ousted from the central government.
