Born in Betamcherla, Kurnool District, Ajay Prakash Pasupulla is a renowned Indian researcher, academic, and clinician widely recognized for his significant contributions to the fields of oral and maxillofacial pathology, cancer epidemiology, genetic epidemiology, molecular biology, DNA profiling, and immunology. His journey from a small town to the forefront of medical research is a testament to his dedication and passion for advancing healthcare.

Growing up, Ajay Prakash Pasupulla was deeply influenced by his surroundings and family. His father, P.S. Rama Murthy, a government police officer, and his mother, P.S. Uma Rani, a homemaker, instilled in him a strong sense of service and compassion. Married to Sushma Bushan, a dentist and nutritionist, Ajay Prakash Pasupulla’s family background played a crucial role in shaping his values and career path.

Guided by distinguished Professor B. Sivapathasundharam and mentors like Professor Anjali A. Karande and Dr. GV Rao, Chief staff Scientist, Ajay Prakash Pasupulla delved into cutting-edge research at institutions like the Indian Institute of Science and the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics. His exploration of P53 expression in head and neck cancer and pioneering work on DNA fingerprinting for Amelogenin gene typing and HLA DQ gene typing, in human dental pulp underscore his commitment to unravelling the complexities of the field.

Transitioning seamlessly into academia, Ajay Prakash Pasupulla’s tenure as an Assistant Professor at K.G.F University of Dental Sciences and later as a Reader at Kamineni Institute of Dental Sciences showcased his prowess as a scholar and educator. His research on the forensic effects of heat on extracted teeth and immunohistochemical analysis of Langerhans cells in head and neck squamous cell carcinomas exemplify his multidisciplinary approach and dedication to advancing knowledge.

Ajay Prakash Pasupulla’s contributions have garnered widespread recognition, with accolades such as the Best Scientific Paper Award and the Dr. RM Mathur Best Publication Award affirming the impact of his work.
