Meet Saryu Malde Bharatnatyam Performer Hastaksharr Lok Nrutya Shiromani

Saryu has pursued  Arangetram from Gandhrava University.  

Completed the course of “Bharat Natyam” from Gandharva University. 

Completed course of “ Visharadh” from  Nalanda University.(1996)

 Completed courses in folk, Contemporary, salsa, Zumba, and many other Indian and Western dance forms. 

She holds 14 years of enriched experience in the field of performing arts. Currently working as a teacher in an international school of thane & Conducting dance workshops.

Saryu says Movement, music, and design must be part of schooling. Dance is like fundamental science. When you invest in it, you invest in human beings.” Indian classical dance is sustained by a profound philosophy. The form seeks to merge with the formless, motions seek to become a part of the motionless, and the dancing individual seeks to become one with the eternal dance of the cosmos.

Achievements:

Akhil Bharatiya  Gandharva Mahavidyalaya  Bharatnatyam” in the year 1993- 94. (Got 1st class)

Achieved “Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalay Bharatnatyam ” in the year 1994- 95. (Got 1st class) and did share and got the award from the Hemamalini institution

Achieved best student award for dance in MalharUtsav. (received it from Actor Jitendraji)

Got felicitated with Best Dance Award and Trophy from  India’s first television show – boogie woogie (Indian Women Free Style Solo Dance) in 1999-2000. And later got selected for a boogie-woogie interview and got prizes from Javed Jaffrey and Ahmed  Khan.

 The pioneering in KUTCHI SAMAJ to win a prize in a TV show was honored by getting featured in a renowned Kutch samaj book entitled Pagdandi and also got awarded by Chheda Jewellers.

❖ Won FALGUNI PATHAK DANDIYA QUEEN AWARD and got nominated for SAMKALIN NEWSPAPER and won a prize.

❖ awarded in many schools as a Dance Teacher as well as in inter-school and college dance shows. (Got Best Dance Teacher Award in a school of pre-primary, primary, and secondary school having students of IGCSC and 11th And 12th IB Board)

❖ Have 14 years of experience in the field of performing arts.

❖ Have worked under DY Patil International School, Aarambh School, Podar Jumbo Kids  International School, Dnyanganga International, Mighty Minds, Kidezee, Tree House,  Rainbow International, and many more

❖  Have won the Brahmand Dandiya Queen Award in 2016-17.

❖ Had been selected for a national-level dance competition.

❖  Have been receiving Falguni Phatak Dandiya Queen for 3 consecutive years.

❖ Have won a state-level swimming award.

❖ Have been felicitated with Thane Nari Ratna Award and Nari Shakti Award all over Mumbai from Kutchi Samaj.

❖ Recently ranked 2nd amongst 90+ participants all over India in a virtual garbage competition.

Saryu  is a certified Folk Dance Mentor successfully associated with most of the schools in Thane for teaching Folk Dance 

Saryu says…Folk dances are specific dances performed in a particular region and have survived for centuries giving us a glimpse of our past and the stories that showcase the dignity of  different parts of India!

Bharat Gaurav Award from Delhi

For representing India for folk culture in (the mummy special category)

Received the best choreographer   International schools competition 

Received Pride of India award on 75 Independence Day 

For choreographer and teaching in school ( government certified )

  Received Kutchi Paghdi from Ek Nath Shinde ji for her achievements in dance

Saryu says #MyWorkIsMySwabhiman for while dancing, I don’t just breathe in air, but breathe in the ‘space’ around me…through every pore…that makes my dance fuller, expansive, and reach far beyond one’s tiny self…as though the entire space around me dances within me. Dance space!” and the best dancers are the ones who are trained and taught!

MY dance is healing for me, it rids all illness and soothes my mind!

Saryu says …We dance for laughter, we dance for tears, we dance for madness, we dance for fears, we dance for hopes, we dance for screams, we are the dancers, we create the dreams!
