Introduction

The Mizoram MGNREGA funds boost has strengthened rural development across Mizoram, with a total allocation of ₹6,498 crore under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act. State minister Lalnilawma stated that the funds have significantly improved livelihood opportunities and supported rural infrastructure. Notably, the scheme continues to play a key role in strengthening the state’s rural economy.

Strengthening Rural Livelihoods

According to Lalnilawma, the implementation of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act has provided employment to thousands of rural households in Mizoram. Moreover, the scheme guarantees wage employment for rural families while supporting community development projects.
