Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Karnataka for a two-day visit, during which he is expected to address six public meetings and hold two roadshows. This is the PM’s ninth visit to the state since February, ahead of the assembly elections for 224 seats that will be held on May 10, with vote counting on May 13.

Modi’s itinerary includes a public meeting in Humnabad, Bidar district, at 11 am on Saturday, followed by public gatherings in Vijayapura and Kudachi in Belagavi district. In the evening, he will hold a roadshow in Bengaluru North.

On Sunday, the Prime Minister will address a public meeting in Kolar at 11:30 am, followed by a visit to Channapatna in Ramanagara district at 1:30 pm. He will also visit the temple town of Belur in Hassan district.

The event in Belur is expected to draw a crowd of over two lakh people, according to BJP workers handling arrangements. The Prime Minister will also hold a roadshow in Mysuru before departing for Delhi.

Modi’s visit comes amidst controversy over Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s ‘venomous snake’ remark. The Prime Minister is expected to respond to the comments during his visit.
