Supreme Court Grants Interim Relief to BJP MLA Dasanglu Pul on Voided Election from Hayuliang Seat in Arunachal Pradesh

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders from Arunachal Pradesh expressed their appreciation and welcomed the recent interim relief granted by the Supreme Court to party MLA Dasanglu Pul. The relief comes in response to the voiding of her election from the Hayuliang seat in the Anjaw district in 2019 by the Itanagar bench of the Gauhati High Court on April 25 of this year.

The Supreme Court bench, presided over by Justice A.S. Bopanna and Justice Sanjay Karol, took up the case and granted interim relief to Dasanglu Pul. The court’s decision has provided a temporary respite for Pul, who has been in a state of uncertainty since the High Court’s ruling.

Dasanglu Pul’s election victory in the Hayuliang assembly constituency was declared void by the Itanagar bench of the Gauhati High Court after an extensive legal proceeding. The High Court’s decision shook the political landscape in Arunachal Pradesh and raised questions about the legitimacy of Pul’s election.

The interim relief granted by the Supreme Court allows Pul to continue in her position as an MLA, albeit on a temporary basis, until the final judgment is delivered. This decision has brought relief and solace to the BJP leaders in Arunachal Pradesh who have been supporting Pul throughout this legal battle.

The interim relief is a significant development for Dasanglu Pul, as it indicates that the Supreme Court found merit in her case and recognized the need for further examination. It also provides a ray of hope for her supporters, who believe in her innocence and wish to see her continue her political career uninterrupted.

The Hayuliang seat in the Anjaw district holds great importance for both the BJP and Dasanglu Pul. Her election victory in 2019 had not only secured her position in the state assembly but also demonstrated the party’s popularity in the region. The subsequent voiding of her election left many BJP supporters disheartened and uncertain about the future.

With the interim relief, Dasanglu Pul can now focus on building her legal defense and presenting her case before the Supreme Court. The coming days will be crucial as she prepares to fight for her political legitimacy and prove her innocence in the electoral process.

It is important to note that interim relief is not a final judgment on the case. The Supreme Court will thoroughly examine the facts and legal aspects before reaching a final decision. Until then, Dasanglu Pul will continue to represent the people of Hayuliang in the state assembly, maintaining a delicate balance between legal proceedings and her political responsibilities.

The interim relief granted by the Supreme Court offers a glimmer of hope for Dasanglu Pul and her supporters. It reaffirms their faith in the judiciary and its ability to ensure justice. As the legal process unfolds, the final verdict will determine the future of Pul’s political career and the representation of the Hayuliang seat in the Arunachal Pradesh assembly.
