The Chief Minister directed departments to improve governance speed and ensure effective implementation of welfare schemes.
Government Focuses on Farmer Welfare and Finance
Additionally, Sarma asked officials to make paddy procurement more farmer-friendly. He stressed that farmers should receive fair compensation for their produce without delays.
The Chief Minister also reviewed Assam’s financial condition ahead of the full state budget. He instructed departments to align fiscal planning with the promises made during the election campaign.
According to officials, the government wants to maintain financial discipline while continuing development projects across the state.
Infrastructure and Development Projects Get Priority
The Assam government has also increased focus on infrastructure and connectivity projects.
Sarma instructed officials to speed up major schemes such as Asom Mala and several road and bridge construction projects. At the same time, he emphasized maintaining high construction quality standards.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister said the NDA 3.0 government must work at full pace to fulfill its commitments to the people of Assam.
Earlier, Sarma reviewed projects linked to the “Vikas and Virasat” agenda. These projects include uninterrupted power supply, the Maa Kamakhya Corridor development project, and investment initiatives under Advantage Assam 2.0.
Cabinet Promises to Implement Manifesto Commitments
In its first Cabinet meeting on May 13, the Assam government resolved to implement all 31 manifesto promises in “letter and spirit” during the next five years.
The upcoming Assembly session will give the new government its first opportunity to present legislative priorities and explain its development roadmap before the House.
