In a dramatic turn of events during the Zero Hour of the state assembly, the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) vehemently demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) paper leaks. The alleged leaks have led to an atmosphere of disillusionment and disheartenment among the youth of Rajasthan, raising concerns about the integrity of the examination process.

The Leader of Opposition, Rajendra Rathore, took to the floor to express his party’s deep concerns regarding the recurring paper leak incidents that have marred the RPSC’s reputation. Rathore highlighted that the youth, who have been aspiring to serve the state through various government services, are left in a state of dismay due to the unfair advantages gained by certain individuals through leaked question papers.

Drawing attention to the seriousness of the matter, Rathore revealed that a member of the RPSC had already been arrested in connection with the paper leak scandal. Even more troubling, another member’s name has surfaced in a complaint, which is also linked to a recent arrest of a former Congress minister. Such alarming connections raise questions about the extent of the alleged malpractices within the RPSC.

The BJP’s demand for a CBI inquiry stems from the belief that an independent and impartial investigation is essential to unearth the truth and bring the culprits to justice. The party firmly believes that only an agency like the CBI, with its reputation for conducting thorough investigations, can effectively get to the bottom of this intricate web of corruption and conspiracy surrounding the RPSC paper leaks.

Frustrated by the lack of concrete action taken by the state government to address the issue, the BJP decided to stage a walkout from the state assembly as a powerful mark of protest. The walkout was intended to send a strong message to the ruling party that the opposition would not rest until the matter was treated with the urgency and gravity it deserved.

The RPSC, responsible for conducting recruitment examinations to various government positions in Rajasthan, has a significant role in shaping the careers of thousands of aspiring candidates. Therefore, ensuring the integrity and transparency of its examination process is of paramount importance. The successive paper leak incidents have severely dented the trust that candidates place in the commission and have ignited public outrage across the state.

In response to the BJP’s walkout, the ruling party defended its actions and assured the assembly that appropriate measures were being taken to investigate the allegations. The government maintained that it had initiated an internal inquiry into the matter and had also requested the state police to conduct a parallel investigation. However, the opposition remained unconvinced, arguing that internal inquiries may not be sufficient to address such complex and widespread corruption allegations.

The call for a CBI inquiry has gained traction not only among the opposition but also among various civil society groups and students’ organizations. Demands for a fair and transparent investigation have resonated widely, with citizens across the state expressing their support for an independent probe.

As the political temperature rises, the ball is now in the court of the ruling party to address the concerns of the opposition and the public effectively. The state government’s response to the demand for a CBI inquiry will be closely scrutinized and could have far-reaching implications for the credibility and future functioning of the RPSC.

The demand for a CBI inquiry into the RPSC paper leaks has become a focal point of political contention in Rajasthan. The opposition BJP’s walkout from the state assembly serves as a stark reminder of the urgency and seriousness of the issue at hand. As the public eagerly awaits the government’s response, the need for a thorough investigation into the alleged corruption within the RPSC has become an undeniable priority for the state’s administration.
