CM Extends Greetings on Player’s Day 2026

Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Wednesday extended warm greetings and heartfelt wishes to sportspersons across the state on the occasion of Player’s Day 2026.

In his message, the Chief Minister praised athletes for their dedication and unwavering commitment to excellence. He said players form the very foundation of sports and bring every game to life through discipline, hard work, and determination.

Athletes Are the Pride of Manipur

Khemchand described sportspersons as the pride of Manipur and the driving force behind the state’s strong sporting culture. He stated that their passion and perseverance inspire young people to pursue sports and strive for success at national and international levels.

“Without players, no sport can truly flourish. Their indomitable spirit defines the essence of every sporting event,” the Chief Minister said in his message.

Manipur has earned national recognition for producing top athletes across disciplines such as boxing, football, weightlifting, and athletics. The state continues to contribute significantly to India’s sporting achievements.

Government Reaffirms Commitment to Sports Development

The Chief Minister also reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to strengthening sports infrastructure and supporting emerging talent. He said Player’s Day serves as a reminder to nurture and empower athletes so they can continue to bring laurels to the state and the nation.

Khemchand emphasised that the government will continue to create opportunities for training, exposure, and professional growth for young sportspersons. He highlighted the importance of sustained investment in coaching facilities, modern stadiums, and grassroots programmes.

According to him, empowering athletes today will ensure a brighter sporting future for Manipur tomorrow.

Inspiring the Next Generation

On the occasion of Player’s Day 2026, the Chief Minister encouraged aspiring athletes to remain focused, disciplined, and confident in their abilities. He urged them to carry forward Manipur’s rich sporting legacy with pride and determination.

He concluded his message by wishing all players a successful and inspiring Player’s Day 2026, expressing hope that they will continue to achieve new milestones and uphold the state’s reputation as a powerhouse of sports in India.
