India’s G20 Presidency is hosting the Culture Working Group meeting in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha, from May 14-17, which will highlight the importance of cultural diversity in promoting peaceful coexistence and multilateralism.

The event will feature sand art installations by Padma Shri awardee Sudarshan Pattnaik, who will create an artwork on the theme ‘Culture Unites All’ at Puri Beach on May 14. The installation will be inaugurated by Union Minister for Culture, Tourism, and DoNER GK Reddy and Minister of State for Culture and Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal.

The Culture Working Group meeting will emphasize the critical role of culture in driving collaborative outcomes and promoting inclusivity and harmonious living in today’s interconnected world. The theme ‘Culture Unites All’ recognizes that cultural traditions may differ greatly, but they share underlying values and principles that can transcend boundaries and foster connections among individuals, communities, and nations.

The message of ‘Culture Unites All’ embodies a holistic vision of working towards a collective sustainable future and universal well-being, encapsulating the essence of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.’ Sudarshan Pattnaik, a renowned pioneer of sand art in India, believes in using his art to raise awareness about social and environmental issues and spread the message of peace and harmony. His sand art installations have won international recognition, representing India in numerous competitions.
