A new complaint has been lodged in a local court against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, his deputy Tejashwi Yadav, and state government officials in connection with a recent incident of police lathicharge on BJP workers, specifically women, during a protest march in the state capital on July 13.

The complaint was filed by Lajwanti Jha, who serves as the head of the women’s cell within the state BJP. It comes after a similar complaint was previously lodged by another BJP worker, Krishna Singh Kallu, before a court in Patna.

Speaking to reporters, Lajwanti Jha expressed her dismay over the alleged police brutality towards BJP protesters, especially women, during the protest march. She accused the Chief Minister, Deputy CM, and other senior officials of the district administration and police of directing the lathicharge.

The incident in question occurred on July 13 when BJP workers took to the streets to voice their grievances. The police response to the demonstration resulted in violence and force, which has now become a subject of legal scrutiny.

As the head of the women’s cell within the state BJP, Lajwanti Jha emphasized the significance of safeguarding the rights of women and ensuring their safety, even during protests. She condemned the alleged actions of the police as “barbaric” and held the top government officials responsible for what she perceived as an excessive and unjust use of force.

In the wake of the fresh complaint, the court will likely initiate an investigation into the matter to ascertain the veracity of the allegations made against the Chief Minister, Deputy CM, and state government officials. This incident has also brought the police’s handling of protests and their adherence to standard operating procedures under scrutiny.

The opposition parties are closely monitoring the developments, with the BJP rallying around their aggrieved workers and demanding accountability for the actions of the police and government authorities. The case is expected to unfold over the coming days, and both complainants, Lajwanti Jha and Krishna Singh Kallu, are expected to play crucial roles as witnesses in the legal proceedings.

It’s important to note that the incident has the potential to fuel political tensions in the state, especially between the ruling coalition and the opposition. The Chief Minister’s office has yet to respond to the specific allegations made in the complaint.

As the legal process progresses, civil society organizations and women’s rights activists have also expressed their concern over the incident. They call for a thorough and impartial investigation to ensure justice is served, and those responsible for any wrongdoing are held accountable.

The situation is likely to draw significant public attention, and the media will play a pivotal role in reporting on the developments and keeping the public informed about the progress of the case.

A fresh complaint has been filed against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav, and state government officials in connection with the police lathicharge on BJP workers, particularly women, during a protest march in the state capital on July 13. The complainant, Lajwanti Jha, head of the women’s cell of state BJP, has accused the top government officials of directing the police actions, labeling them as “barbaric.” This incident is now under legal scrutiny, and the court will investigate the matter to establish the truth behind the allegations. As the case unfolds, it has the potential to impact the state’s political landscape and raises questions about the police’s handling of protests and adherence to protocols. Civil society organizations and activists are also closely monitoring the situation, emphasizing the need for a fair and impartial investigation to ensure justice prevails.
