Renowned Indian actor and casting director Gufi Paintal, popularly known as Sarabjeet Singh Paintal, passed away on June 5 in a Mumbai hospital due to age-related health issues. His nuanced and captivating performance in this role resonated deeply with audiences, and Shakuni Mama became one of his most beloved characters. In 2010, Gufi Paintal was appointed as the head of the Abbhinnay Acting Academy, founded by Pankaj Dheer (Gufi Paintal’s co-star from Mahabharat). This acting school, situated in Mumbai, offers aspiring actors a platform to hone their skills and pursue their passion under the guidance of industry professionals.

Gufi Paintal made his debut in the world of movies with the 1975 film “Rafoo Chakkar,” where he portrayed the character of Salim. He continued to showcase his acting prowess in the 1978 movie “Dillagi,” playing the role of Ganesh.
