In a tragic incident in Maharashtra’s Buldhana district, a survivor has shared a harrowing account of escaping a burning bus that claimed the lives of 25 passengers. According to the survivor, the incident occurred when one of the bus tires burst, causing the vehicle to catch fire rapidly. The blaze quickly spread throughout the bus, leaving little time for the passengers to react.

The survivor, who was seated next to another passenger, managed to escape by breaking the rear window of the bus. They recounted the terrifying experience of witnessing the fire engulfing the bus within moments. Sadly, not everyone was able to escape the burning vehicle.

Prompt response teams, including the police and fire brigade, swiftly arrived at the scene after the accident. A local resident reported that around four to five passengers were able to flee by breaking a single window of the bus. However, they lamented the fact that despite seeking help from passing vehicles on the highway, no one stopped to assist them.

The local resident revealed that accidents frequently occur on this route at Pimpalkhuta. When they were called for help and reached the scene, they witnessed a horrific sight. The tires had fallen apart, and people inside the bus were desperately trying to break the windows to escape. Unfortunately, the intensity of the fire prevented any meaningful intervention, leaving the witnesses devastated and helpless.

The police emphasized that if the vehicles passing by had stopped to provide assistance, more lives could have been saved. Eight survivors were rushed to a nearby hospital and were reported to be safe.

According to the driver’s account, the accident occurred after a tire burst, resulting in flames engulfing the bus. Subsequently, the diesel tank of the vehicle caught fire. Among the victims, three were children, while the rest were adults. The exact cause of the accident is yet to be determined, as investigations are ongoing, according to Buldhana Police Deputy SP Baburao Mahamuni, as reported by ANI.
