How To Watch UP Nikay Chunav

Voting for the final phase of urban local body polls in Uttar Pradesh was concluded on Thursday with a voting percentage of 53%. The first phase was conducted on May 4 with a voting percentage of 52%.

Elections were held for various posts including Mayor, Corporator, Nagar Palika Parishad Chairperson and Member, and Nagar Panchayat Chairperson and Member. In total, over 1.92 crore voters were eligible to cast their votes in the second phase, while close to 2.40 crore voters were eligible in the first phase.

In the second phase, there were 39,146 candidates in the fray for 6,929 posts, including seven mayors and 581 corporators. In the first phase, 44,232 candidates were in the fray. The fate of all the candidates is now sealed in the ballot box and the counting will take place on May 13, Saturday.

The elections were held for 17 seats of Mayor, 1,420 of Corporator, 199 of Nagar Palika Parishad Chairperson, 5,327 of Nagar Palika Parishad Member, 544 of Nagar Panchayat Chairperson, and 7,178 seats of Nagar Panchayat Member.
