Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Mudumalai Tiger Reserve (MTR) in Nilgiris District has prompted tight security measures in and around the area.

. MTR officials have confirmed that the security cover has been increased as Modi is scheduled to visit Theppakadu elephant camp in MTR and meet with the Bomman-Bellie couple, who was featured in the Oscar-winning documentary “The Elephant Whisperers.”

To ensure the Prime Minister’s safety during his visit, the MTR authorities have ordered the temporary closure of hotels, elephant safaris, and tourist vehicles inside the area from April 7 to 9. Furthermore, the roads leading to MTR from Mysuru in Karnataka are being upgraded, and a helipad is being prepared at Singara for Modi’s arrival.

In addition, various pathways in nearby villages are being renovated, and approximately 30 electric poles are being installed to provide electricity to tribal areas. The swimming area for elephants is also being modernized.

All of these measures have been put in place to ensure a smooth and secure visit for Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji.
