Kejriwal To PM Modi: “No One’s Honest If I’M A Thief”

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of corruption and alleged that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is targeting opposition leaders in false cases.

Kejriwal’s comments come after he was summoned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the excise policy case. He said he will honor the summons, but claimed that the BJP has been running a witch hunt against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the past year.

Kejriwal argued that investigating agencies such as the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) are framing opposition leaders and subjecting them to torture to extract false confessions. He cited instances of those who were arrested and later granted bail in the alleged excise scam, alleging that they were subjected to “third-degree torture” by the ED and CBI.

Kejriwal also attacked the PM over recent remarks by former Jammu & Kashmir governor Satya Pal Malik, who reportedly said that the PM “didn’t mind corruption”. Kejriwal accused Modi of being “steeped in corruption from head to toe”, and alleged that the BJP was targeting the AAP because it had given hope to the people of the country for a change.

Kejriwal said that he would file “appropriate cases” against CBI and ED officials for “perjury and producing false evidence in courts”. He also said that if he “is a thief, then no one in this world is innocent”.
